31 March 2012 – Gaza City: Over 50,000 people gathered at Beit Hanoun in the north of the Gaza Strip today for the Global March to Jerusalem.

With the exception of a hundred or so people between the back of the stage and the Erez crossing a kilometre away, the enormous crowd was peaceful and well-behaved, but determined to make their point on Palestinian Land Day. Read more »

Julie Webb-Pullman: Final Preparations in Gaza for GMJ

The final preparations for the Global March to Jerusalem took place this afternoon in Gaza City, with several youth groups collaborating in an activity near the square of the Unknown Soldier, where they painted a wall with the graffiti for which Gaza is famous.

Several events were staged in Gaza City today in preparation for the Global March to Jerusalem, to take place this coming Friday, 30 March.

An event at the Ministry of Detainee Affairs was attended by most of the Palestinian prisoners released last year in the Gilad Shalit – Palestinian Prisoner exchange deal, several women among them. Read more »
